Get a Head Start on College
Legacy the School of Sports Sciences' innovative, rigorous curriculum is specifically designed to meet the needs of our diverse student population — including students who want to accelerate their path to college.
Through our Dual Credit and Dual Enrollment programs, qualifying Legacy students can earn college credit while still in high school — potentially graduating with up to 60 college credit hours or an associate degree.
Dual Credit — Lone Star College
Legacy the School of Sport Sciences is committed to preparing students for the next level. Our campus is designed to emulate a college atmosphere, encouraging students to be accountable and responsible for themselves. They develop the behaviors early on that are necessary to navigate the demands of college life.
Qualifying high school students can earn college credits in select subject areas through our partnership with Lone Star College — potentially graduating high school with an associate degree.
Prior to taking any dual credit course, students will speak with their high school counselor to determine eligibility. The Texas Success Initiative (TSI) Assessment is used to determine college placement level in reading, mathematics, and writing — it's required by the state for all students attending a public institution of higher education.
Dual Enrollment — UT OnRamps
High school students who want more challenging courses or an early advantage on college requirements may opt for the Dual Enrollment program. UT OnRamps empowers students to take on the role of a college student in a supportive environment that encourages growth and future success.
Legacy's partnership with UT OnRamps allows students to be enrolled in two academic institutions at once, earning credits that count toward both their high school diploma and college graduation. Depending on the course grade, students may earn college credit that is guaranteed transferable to any public institution in Texas.
Classes are mentored by Legacy teachers while taking distance courses led by college instructors. Current OnRamps offerings include English, Chemistry, Pre-Calculus, U.S. History, and Art.
