The First of Its Kind
Legacy Collegiate Middle and High School for Careers in Health and Wellness (Legacy CMHS) is the first accredited charter district in the state of Texas that focuses on the professions within athletics.
Legacy is a thematic learning environment, tied together with project-based learning, that has created a curriculum focused on specific areas: athletic administration and coaching, sports media and marketing, and sports medicine.
We are the school district of choice for the college-prep student who wishes to grow and excel academically, athletically, and personally — while maintaining a flexible schedule. Students are trained and coached by former collegiate and professional athletes. They learn about the professions in sports, all while building an extensive network of athletic industry experts.
What Sets Legacy Apart
Dual Credit
Qualifying high school students can earn college credits in select subject areas — potentially graduating with an associate degree from Lone Star College.
80 to Play
To participate in ANY extracurricular activity, students must maintain a minimum grade of 80% in each class. Academics come first, always.
Sports Medicine Pathway
Specialized programs in athletic training and sports medicine prepare students for careers in healthcare and wellness.
Teachers Who've Been There
72% of our teachers are former collegiate or professional athletes. They've walked the path our students are starting.
UT OnRamps Partnership
Through our partnership with UT OnRamps, students earn credits applied to both their high school diploma and college graduation requirements.
Project-Based Learning
Our thematic learning environment ties academics, athletics, and real-world projects together for deep, lasting understanding.
A Personalized Approach
Legacy actualizes its mission of honoring each student's unique style of learning by providing a personalized approach to education that nurtures students' academic and personal goals.
We offer challenging academic courses and diverse elective credit options. In partnership with Lone Star Community College and The University of Texas, Legacy offers college credit programs designed to provide students with an opportunity to earn an associate degree or up to sixty college credit hours paired with their high school diploma.
